The seconds ticked by endlessly. I lay on the hard mattress thinking
How did I get here today?
Let me start from the beginning. My name is Anne Howard, I’m twenty five years old and I have no idea who I am. To be truthful, I did know once. Six years ago I was a beautiful, successful girl, full of life and perspectives. But that was stripped away from me leaving me naked and exposed to the world. The only fixation that can comfort me now is the Ocean.
The Ocean is swaying gently back and forth, as if it’s moving along a soft rhythm. The turquoise blue Ocean stretches out in front of my worn out eyes miles on end. Fresh salty air flows through my nostrils as I take two deep breaths. I let my bare feet touch the water, feeling the wetness caress my ankles. I bend over slightly and reach out with slender fingers for the sand. I let my own body lower itself so I end up sitting on a soft squishy sofa. I let my fingers sink into the silky, smooth, and soft sand sending me electrifying chills up my arms.
Slowly, I raise my head up and gape at the scenery. I’m transfixed. Rich dark green trees stretch out towards the clear, blue sky. The blazing sun sends rays of piercing light on the eternal line of trees giving them an emerald glow. Somewhere distant a bird sings quietly sending signals over the isolated place. The wind seems to have a life of its own, brushing past my white dress, teasing me calling out to me. The salty air makes me slightly nauseous but it wakes me up.
I rise gracefully digging my feet further into the warm sand. A rock twice my size, stands there in the middle of the beach isolated. I walk blindly towards it, one step after another. Fresh air flows through my veins, my heart pumps harder for one reason only. This isn’t a rock. It is Dad. I stretch out my hands, half smiling, and half contemplating whether I should go up to him.
“Daddy?” I call out hoarsely letting the wind carry my desperate voice to him. His back is to me and I can’t see his face. But those torn converse shoes are his. I just know they are. I let my fingers guide me to his shirt as I tap him softly. I’m surprised at how hard his skin is. Dad doesn’t move.
“It’s me” I whisper. No response. And then the figure rises quickly as a bat, shooting up. I step back. Dad starts walking, his back to me. He is walking towards the trees. Should I follow him? Yes I should I decide hastily. Following him isn’t as easy I had hoped. Each step becomes more difficult, as if the sand is pulling me down, wanting me lost forever.
Dad disappears in the lining of the trees and I desperately quicken my pace. I don’t want to lose him. I let myself be dragged into the forest. I stop walking and stand there, on thin grass staring up at the trees. Crisp green leaves stretch out everywhere blocking the sky. I surrender to the nature for as long as I can think of. Birds chirp happily. Somewhere distant I hear a roar. Birds shoot up from every branch and fly in different directions. I catch green, pale yellow, and orange birds fly towards the sky. I notice a cloud looming over the Island. The cloud wanted to swallow the beauty of nature. This angered me. Exactly like my childhood. Characters have played a part in my childhood. Sneaking up on me, whispering you are nothing. I wasn’t going to let this cloud spoil goodness in life.
This made me snap out from my state. I stared down at my dry hand, hanging limply at my side. Is this my hand? I touch it softly. Skin on skin. My existence on this Island is going to live out in my memory until the day I die I decide right there and then. I have to find my dad.
I continue walking and to my amazement the trees clear out giving me space to walk forward. A branch whips me softly on my arm. I look at the red mark seep into me. I keep walking letting the nature carry me forever. My feet touch something sharp. A rock most likely. Nothing can prevent me from finding him. Then I see him. Standing at the edge of something. I walk towards him quickening my footsteps. I stretch out a hand letting it call out to him. I’m coming so close I can almost touch him. I can feel a part of his soul in me completing my identity. I smile.
“Daddy” I cry out. And then the he disappears. Vanishes into thin air. He leaves me alone, all alone in this Island. I’m isolated from the world. No one knows I exist. He’s forcing me to question my existence.
This makes me angry. I shout. He can’t just leave me behind. A warm tear streams down my face. I shake my head over and over again. I tear my eyes away from the spot where he has left and search around. All I see are trees. Thick lined trees, with a characteristic feature to each one. One of them seems to be lurking up to me. I close my eyes frightened. I open them again and this time look down at my feet. I’m standing in thin air. I cry out as I fall, and fall. I try to grasp something, anything that is going to support me. Now I can feel the air carrying me to my destination. And then a splash. Icy water hits me. I’m short of breath. My eyes dart upward to the light. I have to follow that light. It will guide me back to sanity. I swim to it desperately and then I’m there.
I gasp out from my mattress. My nightie is drenched wet. I look around the room. White, all white. A metal table stands there in the corner of the small room sadly. A doctor in white is standing at the foot of my bed.
“Sarah it’s time for your medication.”

A Mini Intro
There are six billion people on this planet. More than half of them have discovered an easier path in life. They are given a particular gift in which they naturally embrace it. Others are less fortunate. Whether you have a unique voice, or artistic hands your life becomes easier. This is pure fact, and you cannot fight it.
I always had counted myself as the less fortunate person. I didn't really know how to do anything. I could not sing. I could not draw. I could not cook for that matter. I didn't get science. I didn't get maths. I chased a distant dream to become an actress, but that didn't work out either. I finally gave up. I felt that I could not express myself in any way whatsoever. As a child, this deeply upset me. A human has to have a way; Any way to express themselves. Just as I was facing the facts, that i just wasn't talented- it came. Writing did. I am not being modest or anything But I found a way to express my thoughts onto paper. My imagination has always been so vivid and wild. As a child I invented this game called piri piri. I'd sit, facing a wall with a stick and I’d play with it. As you can imagine my parents went berserk. They thought i was insane. They took me to a physcologist. After the physcologist quizzed my sanity, he finished off with a positive note. "No," He said. "This one has a very wild imagination. She found a way to express her imagination.". Yup that was me. Nowadays, i write stories. Any kind of stories. I love writing. My head is full of possible stories. It really can drive my brain crazy sometimes. As i am almost sixteen now, i do not have enough time to write so many stories on the computer. Although sometimes I do like to shut myself in my room and just type like crazy on the keyboard. Anyway that's my little introduction. I'm not usually like this blabbing and blabbing about myself. At least I don't think I am? I can be a little self-centred sometimes without even realizing it. But hey, everyone is self-centred at times? You wouldn't be human if you weren't. That's it. My introduction. Welcome to my new blog. I also happen to have a fashion one but it doesn't seem liked too much. It's almost deserted. It kind of feels creepy posting the blogs with no responses. As if i'm posting them to myself than to other people. Ok I think you got the drill. I'm going to post a really short story I wrote called Existence. It was originally written for my english coursework. Ah what the hell, i'll post it anyways. Enjoy. Or Not. Feel free to comment! please i need plently of critiscm. Thanks
